What we collect

When you fill in the contact form we receive what you type: which option describes you, what you’re running, what isn’t working, your team size, how soon you need help, your name, your organisation, your email address and, if you add it, your phone or WhatsApp number. We also note which page you came from, so we know which part of the site was useful.

When you email, call or WhatsApp us we receive whatever you send, along with your email address or phone number.

When you browse the site we use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies. It records the page, the referring site, your country and region, and your device type, browser and operating system. Each visit is identified by a scrambled value worked out from the request, which is discarded after 24 hours, so it can’t be used to follow you across days or other websites.

Why we use it

  • To reply to you and arrange the free discovery call you asked for.
  • To understand what you need before that call, so it’s useful.
  • To see which pages help people, in total, so we can improve the site.

We use your contact details because you asked us to get in touch, as a step before any agreement we might make with you. We use the visit statistics because we have a legitimate interest in running a useful website. We don’t sell your details, and we don’t use them for advertising.

Where it’s stored

  • Supabase stores what you send through the contact form, in a database only our server can read.
  • Resend delivers two emails when you send the form: one to our team inbox and a confirmation to you.
  • Our team inbox (info@ratemeltd.com) keeps those emails and anything you send us directly.
  • Vercel hosts this website and runs the visit statistics.

These providers may store data on servers outside Nigeria. We use them because they protect data with safeguards we consider adequate, such as encryption and access controls.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to two years after our last conversation with you, then delete them, unless you become a client, in which case they become part of that relationship’s records. Visit statistics are kept only as totals.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that’s wrong;
  • delete your details, or stop using them;
  • send your details to you or someone else in a common format.

You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission if you think we’ve handled your data wrongly.

How to ask

Email info@ratemeltd.com with “Privacy request” in the subject, or write to House BJ2, Moore Road, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. We’ll reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we share anything.
